Vamana Karma

Vamana Karma, is a part of Panchakarma, the five-fold detoxification therapy. It's a therapeutic vomiting procedure in Ayurveda for purification or detoxification, wherein the accumulated toxins are expelled through a process of medicated emesis/vomiting. This removes toxins from the body and balances the doshas, particularly Kapha, to promote overall health and well-being.

Benefits of Vamana

  • Improved metabolism and digestion

  • Detoxification

  • The lightness of the body

  • Wellness of mind, body, and soul

  • Reduces excess Kapha, preventing related disorders.

  • Increased energy and stamina

  • Improves cognitive functions and emotional well-being.

  • Greater strength and flexibility

  • Strengthens the immune system.

  • Promotes respiratory health.

Before Treatment

Before undergoing Vamana Karma, a detailed consultation and assessment are conducted to ensure the patient is fit for the procedure. Preparation involves several days of internal and external oleation (Snehana) and fomentation (Swedana) to loosen and mobilise toxins. Vamana is done in two ways: Sadyo Vamana, or instant therapeutic emesis (a one-day procedure), and Classical Vamana (elaborate procedure with stages), or Therapeutic emesis which are done based on the conditions or severity of the ailment and patient.

After Treatment

Post-treatment, the patient undergoes a period of rest and recovery. A light and easily digestible diet is recommended to gradually restore digestive strength.  Vamana Karma ayurveda treatment in Bangalore provide a follow-up care including specific dietary and lifestyle guidelines to maintain the benefits of the detoxification and prevent the re-accumulation of toxins.
